NRC is abbreviated as National Register of Citizens.

National Register of Citizens is a process by which every country maintains a register of all its citizens. This practice helps any country to make better policies for the citizens. Almost all the developed countries have their register of citizens.

The eligibility for registering the citizen can be decided by respective governments and citizens have to abide by one of the eligibility criterion to prove his/her citizenship to the government. This practice also helps in eliminating those migrants who are residing without any valid identity proofs.
